Major principles of Chinese modernization

　　Report to the 20th CPC National Congress of the Party pointed out that from now on, the central task of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is to unite and lead the people of all ethnic groups to build a socialist modernization power in an all-round way, realize the goal of the second century, and comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese modernization. In today’s world, great changes that have never happened in a hundred years will accelerate the evolution and promote Chinese modernization. We will encounter all kinds of predictable and unpredictable risk challenges, difficulties and obstacles, and even stormy waves. We must enhance our sense of urgency, adhere to the bottom line thinking, be prepared for danger in times of peace, plan ahead, and be prepared to make more arduous and arduous efforts. In the Report to the 20th CPC National Congress of the Party, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader made clear five major principles that must be firmly grasped on the way forward, which provided fundamental guidance for us to calmly cope with all kinds of risk tests and comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese modernization.

　　Adhere to and strengthen the overall leadership of the party.

　　The key to China’s success lies in the Party. The Communist Party of China (CPC)’s leadership is the embodiment of the common will and fundamental interests of the whole party and the people of all ethnic groups in China, the most essential feature of Socialism with Chinese characteristics, the greatest advantage of the Socialism with Chinese characteristics system, the foundation and lifeline of the party and the country, and the interests and destiny of the people of all ethnic groups in China. Chinese modernization is the socialist modernization led by the Communist Party of China (CPC). Upholding and strengthening the overall leadership of the Party is the fundamental guarantee for comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese modernization.

　　In the new era and new journey, only by upholding and strengthening the overall leadership of the Party can we ensure the socialist development direction of Chinese-style modernization and ensure that all China people have the most reliable backbone, so as to effectively cope with major challenges on the road ahead, resist major risks, overcome major obstacles, resolve major contradictions, and constantly promote Chinese-style modernization. We must resolutely safeguard the authority of the CPC Central Committee and centralize and unify leadership, implement the Party’s leadership in all fields and links of socialist modernization, unswervingly and strictly manage the Party in an all-round way, and further promote the new great project of Party building in the new era, so that the Communist Party of China (CPC) will always become a strong leadership core for realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

　　Adhere to the road of Socialism with Chinese characteristics

　　Direction determines the road, and the road determines fate. In the world, there is neither a model of modernization based on one respect nor a universal standard of modernization. Socialism with Chinese characteristics is the fundamental achievement made by the Party and the people through great hardships and at great cost, and it is the correct way to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. We adhered to and developed Socialism with Chinese characteristics, promoted the coordinated development of material civilization, political civilization, spiritual civilization, social civilization and ecological civilization, and created a new road of Chinese modernization and a new form of human civilization. The Chinese-style modernization road conforms to the reality of China, reflects the wishes of the people in China, and adapts to the requirements of the times. It not only embodies the laws of socialist construction, but also embodies the laws of the development of human society. It is the broad road to create a better life for the people and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

　　In the new era and new journey, we must strengthen Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s road self-confidence, theoretical self-confidence, institutional self-confidence and cultural self-confidence, adhere to the party’s basic theory, basic line and general plan, persist in taking economic construction as the center, adhere to the four cardinal principles, persist in reform and opening up, persist in independence and self-reliance, and persist in putting the development of the country and the nation on the basis of their own strength. Unswervingly follow the road of Socialism with Chinese characteristics, no matter what difficulties and twists and turns we encounter, we must persist in holding the destiny of China’s development and progress firmly in our own hands, constantly push forward and expand Chinese modernization, and build China into a prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful socialist modernization power with the perseverance of "unshakable wind and waves" and "persistent green hills".

　　Adhere to the people-centered development thought

　　People’s nature is the essential attribute of Marxism, and people’s position is the fundamental political position of Marxist political parties. Since its establishment, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has made it his initial mission to seek happiness for the people of China and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation, and has always adhered to the fundamental purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, putting the people at the highest position in his heart. Apart from the interests of the overwhelming majority of the people, it has no special interests of its own, which is a remarkable sign that our party is different from other political parties as a Marxist political party. Promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in an all-round way with Chinese modernization means realizing, safeguarding and developing the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people, constantly realizing development for the people, relying on the people, and sharing the fruits of development, constantly improving people’s livelihood and well-being, and realizing people’s yearning for a better life.

　　In the new era and new journey, we must stand firm on the people’s stand, grasp their wishes, respect their creativity, concentrate their wisdom, rely on the people closely, and constantly promote and expand Chinese modernization. At the same time, we must persist in taking the realization of people’s longing for a better life as the starting point and the end result of modernization, promote the common prosperity of all people and make more obvious substantive progress, and ensure that the development results benefit all people more fairly.

　　Insist on deepening reform and opening up.

　　Reform and opening up is a key measure to determine the future and destiny of contemporary China, and it is an important magic weapon for the party and people to catch up with the times in great strides. The reform and opening up has brought about great changes in China, made the people of China take a decisive step on the journey of becoming rich and strong, and pushed China to achieve a historic breakthrough from a relatively backward productive force to the second largest economic aggregate in the world. Practice has proved that reform and opening-up is the only way to uphold and develop Socialism with Chinese characteristics, and we must persist in deepening reform and opening-up and constantly enhance the motive force of Chinese modernization.

　　In the new era and new journey, to comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese modernization, we must always maintain the spirit of "pioneering", "creative" and "dry" style, comprehensively deepen reform and opening up at a new historical starting point, strengthen the top-level design and overall planning of reform, coordinate and promote economic, political, cultural, social, ecological and other aspects of institutional reforms, bravely break through the barriers of solidification of interests, and strive to break down deep-seated institutional and institutional obstacles. It is necessary to adapt to the new changes in the international situation, promote high-level opening to the outside world, form a wider, broader and deeper pattern of opening to the outside world, build a mutually beneficial, multi-balanced, safe and efficient open economic system, and continuously enhance China’s new advantages in international cooperation and competition.

Judging from the development process, all the achievements made by the party and the people did not fall from the sky, nor were they given by others, but were achieved through constant struggle. As soon as the Communist Party of China (CPC) was founded, it was engraved with the brand of struggle. Along the way, it was to survive, develop and win in the struggle. Dare to struggle and dare to win is an invincible and powerful spiritual force for the people of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and China. Persisting in carrying forward the spirit of struggle is an objective requirement for comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese modernization.

　　In the new era and new journey, China’s development faces new strategic opportunities, new strategic tasks, new strategic stages, new strategic requirements and new strategic environment. The risks and challenges to be dealt with, the contradictions and problems to be solved are more complicated than before. Only by inheriting and carrying forward the spirit of great struggle, being brave and good at it, can we overcome difficulties and obstacles, withstand severe tests and win great victories one after another. We should constantly enhance the ambition, backbone and confidence of the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups, be fearless of evil, ghosts and pressure, advance despite difficulties, make overall plans for development and security, make every effort to overcome all difficulties and challenges on the road ahead, and rely on tenacious struggle to constantly create new glories of Chinese modernization.
